Popular Pinellas County Florida Beaches
Fort De Soto Park - is just a few miles south of Tierra
Verde. It consists of 900 unspoiled acres, seven
miles of beaches, two fishing piers, biking and skating trails, picnic
shelters and camping areas directly on the Gulf of
Mexico. A fort
built during the Spanish-American War is located on Mullet Key, the largest of the five
islands Fort De Soto is rated one of the top ten best beaches in the United States
in a national study.
Clearwater Beach - is the most
popular of all the areas many beaches. Clearwater Beach offers just about every
water and beach activity imaginable. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium on
Island Estates cares for and recuperates injured sea life. "Winter the
Dolphin" was the subject of a movie called Dolphin Tale.
Sand Key Park - is a 90-acre county park featuring a white sandy
beach rated among the top 20 beaches in the U.S. located just south of
Clearwater Beach.
Maderia Beach - is home to fresh fish famous
John’s Pass with numerous restaurants indoors and outdoors. The John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk offers commercial and
charter fishing as well as casino and sightseeing cruises. Fish from several public piers. Johns Pass is a social ground and
nursery for bottlenose dolphins.
Treasure Island - is one of the widest beaches in the area.
Located just south of famous Johns Pass. You'll There are three public
boat ramps and a marina.
St. Pete Beach - is a barrier island near the southern tip of
Pinellas County. Find a wide assortment
of water sports including wave runners, scuba diving, fishing, parasailing and more.
Pass-A-Grille Beach - the
first established town on Floridas West coast barrier islands and is a registered
National Historic District. The area on the southern tip of St. Pete Beach has no
condominiums or "high-rise" buildings.
